Electric Vehicle Infographic

This infographic redesigns an educational fact sheet about hybrid and electric vehicles, intended for a middle-school classroom. While the design brief’s main request was simple—eye-catching, informative, accurate, and limited to one page—It was important to me to accommodate different learning needs and maximize accessibility.
I created a title for the lesson and organized the three distinct sections of content into a loose narrative around it, with the intention of helping students understand why they were being asked to learn this. The battery infographic visually breaks the longest section into manageable chunks, while the electrical cord defines the next section and guides students to it when they are ready. For the final section, I created a vibrant illustration that visualizes updated statistics on rising hybrid and electric vehicle sales. I selected an accessible color palette to account for the three most common forms of color blindness, while also being careful not to convey information through color alone. Throughout the infographic I applied bolding, highlighting, and color-coding to key terms and concepts to aid learning. I assessed the reading level of the original text and made adjustments to lower it from an ATOS score of 9.17 (8th grade reading level) to 7.76 (6th grade reading level).
