Projects for Special Interest Groups

Kitten ICU

I had the privilege of designing the logo for the Dakin Humane Society’s 2024 re-branding of their popular kitten intensive care unit.

The Dakin Humane Society had several goals for this logo:

  1. To allow this program to be recognizable to the public.

  2. To instill pride among the volunteer team who are part of the program.

  3. To use for fundraising campaigns.

  4. A “cute, but gross” kitten illustration to visually communicate the condition of the program’s patients, without the logo itself being upsetting to look at.

What the Client Says:

I am thrilled to share my team’s experience working with Leigh on our Humane Society’s program logo project. Leigh is undeniably one of the best designers we’ve collaborated with. Their creativity, professionalism, and ability to bring our vision to life were exceptional. They listened attentively to our feedback and adeptly captured our ideas, seamlessly incorporating them into our brand identity. Leigh’s responsiveness and accommodation throughout the process made the entire experience smooth for us as end-users. The methodical approach, coupled with an impressive receptiveness to feedback, truly set them apart. We are delighted with the outcome and highly recommend Leigh for their outstanding design skills and collaborative spirit.”

WIN NoVA

Created in 2019 for a local advocacy group. The design turns the earth into a pair of linked hands to show unity. The fonts were chosen to ensure readability of the organization’s name, while also highlighting its close-knit community makeup. Just two colors are used to allow for simplicity when printing promotional materials on a budget.

Wizengamot

Quidditch at

VCU

Created through collaboration with Ashleigh Lauren in 2013 for the quidditch club at VCU. The design features a Ram-Horn-Snitch (winged-snitch from the Harry Potter books and films, with curved Ram horns for VCU’s mascot). This design represented the team in local and national competitions until the team disbanded in 2021.
