Project Rainmaker
Project Rainmaker was an online marketing campaign created by Investing Daily’s marketing team for subsidiary Street Authority’s Takeover Trader. Collaborating across teams within Investing Daily, I created the centerpiece of this campaign, a long-form video sales letter of the analyst, Nathan, promoting his investing product. To increase the impact of this marketing campaign, I designed these centerpiece graphics to be deployed across video and html mediums, expanding the reach of the campaign.
Reel compiled from the video sales letter highlighting some of my key skills and design work for this video
Creating the interview-style introduction to this video sales letter came with the added challenge of capturing content remotely due to the Covid-19 pandemic. To create a seamless and professional look while we were all working remotely, we decided to use static images of the speakers synced up with their voice recordings. On the screen both participants' images are shown, the person speaking is shown in color while the one not speaking is shown in gray to simplify the information and keep viewers’ attention on the video letter’s content.
The main part of the video consists of text slides, which appear as each person is speaking. Throughout the video, animated charts and other graphics are displayed to emphasize the speakers’ point and encourage viewer engagement..
To animate these charts and ensure viewer engagement, I was briefed with creating a set of dynamic graphic elements on each of these charts that emphasize the content in a “corny” style. I designed a series lightning strikes and other eye-catching elements within these charts that work cohesively with the data being shown and the tone of the campaign. Creating animated graphics that fit with both the data and the brief was a fun challenge that ultimately resulted in 26 different graphics being incorporated throughout the 66 minute video.
